Alabama Credit Union Online Privacy Policy and Website Usage Agreement

1. Introduction

Alabama Credit Union respects your right to privacy and understands the importance of security of your personal information. This Online Privacy Policy and Website Usage Agreement ("Policy") only relates to the information we collect online through our website (www.alabamacu.com). our online banking platform, our electronic statements platform, and mobile banking application (collectively, the "Sites"). Please read this Policy carefully. By using any of the Sites. you consent to this policy.

Alabama Credit Union chooses how it shares your personal information in accordance with this policy. Federal law gives customers. applicants. and members the right to limit some. but not all. sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information. This statement is in addition to Alabama Credit Union's Member Privacy Policy ("Privacy Policy"). We will use and share information from or about you in accordance with these policies.

This Policy may be revised or modified at any time without notice to you, and any updates to this Policy will be posted on this page with the updated effective date appearing at the top of the page. Your use of the Site(s) following these changes means that you accept the revised Policy.

This policy is intended to include our website. and all content and material placed upon or accessible via our website.

4. Information Collected

When you visit our Sites, you may be asked to provide information about you that is personally identifiable ("Personal Information").

 

What

  • We use the IP addresses. mobile device information. and geolocation data of our members to help with member identification, to administer the website. and to administer debit and credit card fraud protections.
  • We use cookies to collect analytics. records how you interact with our Sites, or allows us to participate in behavior-based targeted advertising.
  • We may also use additional technologies, such as pixel tags or web beacons, to measure the effectiveness of advertising, determine viewing and response rates. or moderating advertisements to members and potential members.
  • Our site uses a contact form for members to request additional information about our products and services. We collect member contact information, such as email address, phone number, or mailing address to send products, information, or offers.
  • For account opening and modification, we collect personal contact information, driver's license image, citizenship information, mother's maiden name, and social security number. For accounts opened online, we also collect IP addresses, mobile device information, and geolocation data of our members to help with member identification.
 

 

  • We collect IP addresses, browser and operating system for device accessing Sites. unique identifiers of the device, date and time stamp of Site access, location information, the Internet address from the site from with you linked directly to our Site(s). and recently visited web pages for website and/or mobile app advertising.
  • We use contact information. photos. and recordings for marketing promotions and sweepstakes.
  • We use video chat software and geolocation to verify identify for certain types of service requests (i.e. ongoing wire transfer capabilities and ACH capabilities).

Where

  • Our website and mobile application ("app") are controlled and operated by use from the United States and are not intended to subject us to the laws of jurisdiction of any state, country, or territory other than those of the United States.
  • Member information may be stored or processed in any country in which we engage service providers. and, by using our website. users consent to the transfer of information to countries outside their country of residence, including the United States which may have different data protection rules from those in users' country. In certain circumstances. courts, law enforcement agencies, regulatory agencies, or security authorities may be entitled to access member information.

Why

  • We may use member email addresses. phone numbers. or mailing addresses to communicate with members about services.
  • We may use any information members provide or that we collect to provide, maintain, protect, and improve our services.
  • We additionally use member information in providing our services, such as opening an account, making deposits, or paying bills, and to offer products.

Who

  • We do not sell. trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties any personally identifiable information provided by members. This does NOT include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting normal business. or providing other services to members. so long as those parties agree to Keep such information confidential. We may provide member information as permitted or required by law for purposes including response to legal process.

 

Third-party advertisers

We do not currently use other third parties to advertise our Sites, but we reserve our rights to do so in the future. If we choose to partner or associate with additional third-party advertisers, we may amend our Policy. Any updates to our Policy will be posted on this page and are effective at the time of posting.

Google Analytics

    1. WE DO NOT USE ANY THIRD-PARTY WEBSITE TO SOLICIT OR COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION. Posting of personal information on such websites is done at your own risk. We suggest members review the privacy policies of all websites before using them and adjusting privacy settings accordingly.
    1. Third Party Service Providers include but are not limited to the following:

 

      1. Chat feature. The Chat feature is an on-demand service that provides real-time messaging with a chatbot. Messaging exchanged via chatbot will be treated as an authorized communication with the member. Members may use this feature to receive answers to questions regarding site navigation, who to contact, and other basic information. Please refer to terms of service linked within the chat feature.
      1. Co-Browsing. The Co-Browsing feature only works on Alabama Credit Union-owned sites-  www.alabamacu.com and online banking website. After a member requests/consents to co-browsing, co-browsing sessions allow Alabama Credit Union member care agents to see the screen for Alabama Credit Union-owned sites, and ACU Member Care Agents ("agents") can click/navigate those sites on the member's behalf. Agents must offer and members must accept this service via the Chat feature, and/or members must request/agents must generate, and offer/members must accept this service in order for it to become enabled. Please refer to Terms of Service for co-browsing feature linked at time of co-browse session.

      2. Screen Share. Screen sharing is also available via agent offer/member acceptance via the Chat feature, or member request/agent generation and offer/member acceptance of service for it to become enabled. Screen Share applies to any and all windows opened by members, and a message advises members to close any screens that they do not wish Member Care Agents to view prior to the acceptance of the screen share session. Members also may choose which screen/window to share prior to the beginning of the session. Please refer to Terms of Service for screen share linked at time of screen share session.

      3. Outside Payments using Debit Card functionality (Smart Pay). Functionality is available for you to make a loan payment from an outside account using a debit card. Please refer to the Terms of Service for Smart Pay linked on the Smart Pay website.

7. Social Media

    1. We welcome comments from the public and our members and appreciate participation in this forum. Please remember that all conversations taking place on social media should be courteous and appropriate.
    1. We reserve the right to delete any comments, at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to:
