Early Pay FAQs
What is Early Pay?
Early Pay is a feature that allows ACH credits to be made available up to two business days ahead of the scheduled posting/settlement date. Early Pay is not guaranteed and may vary from deposit to deposit and member to member – it all depends on when the transaction(s) is received by Alabama Credit Union.
Can I opt out of Early Pay?
No, this is a feature that applies to all direct deposits received in advance of the settlement date.
Why is my direct deposit only posting one day in advance instead of two?
This is likely due to the Originator’s (person/company initiating the ACH credit) processing schedule. Some companies process payroll two to three days before the deposits are effective, some do so one day ahead of time, and some choose to send deposits same day. There is no “rule” to this, and Alabama Credit Union cannot predict when the Originator plans to send the transaction(s).
Will my loan payment/auto transfer happen early too?
No, automatic transfers and loan payments should still post on their current schedules. While these transfers are associated with/in conjunction with deposit activity, the processes are separate.
We do not recommend making changes to the dates of your scheduled transfers solely based on receiving your payroll deposit early, as early postings of deposits are not guaranteed. Please be sure to utilize online banking and our mobile app to monitor your account regularly.
*Alabama Credit Union’s Early Pay feature allows eligible direct deposits to be credited up to two business days ahead of scheduled deposit date. Because this service relies on the timing of the payor’s notification to us, early availability is not guaranteed. If a deposit is returned or uncollected, we reserve the right to debit your account for that amount. You are responsible for any resulting overdrafts and fees as outlined in our Membership and Account Agreement.
