Alabama Credit Union designated 'peak performing credit union'
Alabama Credit Union has been designated a ‘peak performing credit union’ by Callahan & Associates, a Washington, D.C.-based financial consulting and research firm.
Alabama Credit Union ranked 14th nationally among credit unions $100 million to $250 million in assets in the Return to Saver category, “a good indicator of Alabama Credit Union’s excellent dividends and interest on deposit accounts,” said Alabama Credit Union President Steve Swofford.
In the Total Return to Member category for similar-sized credit unions, Alabama Credit Union scored 18th in the United States. “This particular ranking is rewarding to us,” said Swofford, “because we have worked hard to enhance our value to members. In just two years, we have opened five offices, installed several new ATMs, added new products and services such as ACUibranch Internet account access and electronic Bill-Pay, paid a bonus dividend to depositors and added sophisticated savings and investments planning.”
“Our goal is to continually add value to membership in Alabama Credit Union, and we are pleased to see our progress noted by nationally recognized firms that specialize in financial institutions’ safety, soundness and performance,” said Lynne April, chairman of Alabama Credit Union’s board of directors.
