Auto Loan Process

We believe finding and financing your next auto should be easy and convenient. Here's how to make sure it happens that way:

  2. Calculate the cost of financing payments and more for the autos you wish to consider.
  3. Get your financing pre-approved: There are several ways to conveniently finance your next auto with Alabama Credit Union:
    » Apply online for an auto loan
    » Call us for a pre-approval at (888) 817-2002 during business hours, or 1-866-564-2848 after business hours. If you've already signed our Loanliner Open End PLUS plan, there's no need to visit us again to sign your new loan documents!
    » Choose the auto you want, obtain a buyer's agreement from the seller, and bring it by any of our offices when you request your loan.
    » Finance at any participating dealership
  4. Let the auto dealership apply for your auto title for you. If you're buying from an individual, please bring the bill of sale and original title to the auto to Alabama Credit Union, and we'll process the title application for you.
  5. Arrange your auto insurance, list us as lienholder, and provide proof of coverage to Alabama Credit Union, P. O. Box 862998, Tuscaloosa, AL 35486-0027. Get loan help here.
  6. Choose a convenient method to make your monthly payment. We recommend an automatic transfer from your credit union account, either set up at our office or through your free ACUiBranch account. While there, request to have your new auto loan appear in your ACUiBranch accounts view. You can track your payment transactions and watch your loan balance decline.
  7. Remember that our Loanliner Open End PLUS plan offers options for future loan advances on your existing loan. Let us know if we can assist you!
