Welcome! We hope that you’ll find registering for the Tuscaloosa Kids Triathlon is as easy as a few clicks. This event is a great way to promote healthy, active lifestyles for kids -- while helping out a great cause, Secret Meals For Hungry Children.
Not sure if a triathlon is right for you? This triathlon is sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT) ensuring that all standards for your child’s safety are met. The Tuscaloosa Kids Triathlon will take place on May 17, 2014 at The University of Alabama Recreation Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Participant check-in begins at 6:30 a.m. and an award ceremony will end the event at approximately 11:00 a.m.

No race day registration.
A USA Triathlon Membership is required.A one-day USAT event license fee of $10.00 is required, unless you are already a USAT member.
Each participant will receive a medallion, sports bag, water bottle and event t-shirt. Awards will be presented to the top 3 males and top 3 females in each age group.
Distances by Age Groups (based on age as of 12-31-14)
5-7 Swim: 25yds Bike: 1 mile Run: .25 mile
8-10 Swim: 50yds Bike: 2 miles Run: .50 mile
11-13 Swim: 100yds Bike: 3 miles Run: 1 mile
14-16 Swim: 150yds Bike: 4 miles Run: 1 mile

Can my registration fee be refunded?
Answer: No. Unfortunately, we will not be able to do refunds for any reason. This will be a rain or shine event.
What is a triathlon?
Answer: A triathlon is a timed racing event with 3 sections: first you swim, then you ride a bike, and last you run (or walk).
My child is not a strong swimmer. Can he/she still participate?
Answer: Yes! Participants can swim any stroke (including dog paddle!) and the use of floaties is acceptable, if needed.
My child is still uses training wheels. Can he/she still participate?
Answer:Yes! Training wheels are allowed. However, parents will not be allowed to push or help participants ride the bikes.
Where do I park?
Answer: Parking is available at The University of Alabama Recreation Center. Parking signs will be displayed the day of the race.
What do I need to bring to the triathlon?
Answer: Bathing suit (participant should arrive wearing bathing suit)

Bike and helmet
All participants wear a protective head cover (helmet), undamaged and unaltered, which meets or exceeds the safety standards of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Each participant must provide his/her own headwear.
